Hello, I'm Emma
I'm a project manager, a parent, and an expat based in Amsterdam, Netherlands.
A couple of years ago, I moved here with my family. What began as a temporary assignment gradually became a new chapter of life overseas.
How It Started
Moving to Netherlands wasn't in the long-term plan. Like many expat relocations, it started as a job opportunity and quickly evolved into something much larger.
The initial months were intense — unfamiliar systems, new routines, new expectations. Daily tasks felt more complicated than they ought to be.
The Adjustment Period
There was culture shock, doubt, and plenty of hands-on learning. Yet gradually, routines settled in. We found places that suited us, connected with other families, and began building something that felt stable.
Why I Built Connect Cipher Quantum
Most information online was either corporate relocation guidance or surface-level tourism content. What was missing was an honest, day-to-day family perspective.
This site aims to bridge that gap — practical guidance based on real life in Netherlands.
Overview: What this site does (and does not)
This site is:
- Hands-on experience from living in Netherlands
- Centered on family life and everyday realities
- Updated when something truly changes
This site isn't:
- Not a tourism board resource
- A sponsored-review platform
- Not a generic travel blog
Looking Ahead
Our time in Netherlands continues, and so does the learning journey. As long as the information remains useful, I’ll keep documenting what we discover.
If you have questions about family life in Amsterdam or anywhere in Netherlands, don't hesitate to get in touch.
Best regards,
Emma
